I'm a hair stylist %26amp; we really do rely on our tips, especially if someone is working on commision. It depends upon how well you like your hair %26amp; the stylist when your hair is finished. Usualy 15-20%. Or more if you really love your hair %26amp; you plan on going back to them. It's really up to you how much you liked the service.
I'd say 15-20% is good for the higher priced services, but, for example, if you go just for a 20 dollar cut and the stylist spends a lot of time on your hair and you are very happy with the results, you may want to give them more than $3.00.
if you're a student then 10%, if your earning well 20% is generous.
I generally give $5 every time
