Are you going to become filthy rich? No. However, there are many who work as hair dresser or cosmetician. So, I would say that you can make a living at it.
The most important things to consider are:
Do you have the talent to be a good one?
Would you find that kind of position personally rewarding?
If either answer is no, then don't do it.
